I was born naked. I’ll bet my first thought was what outfit to wear! To this day, I still love to play dress up!

My love of fashion indeed started early on. What I remember most is how fashion made me feel. My teeny, tiny little bedroom was always strewn with clothes as I would change 5, 6, 7 times before heading out the door to school. By the time I was 16, I would find myself on a bus for over an hour to and from the mall to work at Charles Stevens. I was happiest when I was surrounded by fashion. 

Fast forward over 4 decades to today where I find myself wildly blessed to partner with incredible fashion brands. I’m excited to introduce you to a brand I fell in love with ages ago, Trina Turk. I believe in sharing the things that I love with my Fierce sisters. When we total up our ages, Jacqueline and I bring 108 years of life (and fun) to the table! Modern Midlife never felt so good. Jacqueline and I may be all grown up but when it comes to fashion, we quickly revert to two young girls playing dress up! It didn’t take long before we had armloads of the latest in Trina Turk style laid out on racks in the beautifully appointed dressing rooms. We were giggling like two school girls playing in their mother’s closet. Trina Turk Style is a breath of fresh air when it comes to Modern Midlife Style. The designs combine the most beautiful contemporary patterns, fabrics, hues and textures melding them together  into looks that are timeless with a healthy dose of whimsy. 

Trina is the ultimate Modern Midlife woman, a woman who continues to be in her element 20 years after launching the brand from her home. Her creativity is boundless. It’s hard to believe she designs 11 different collections a year! Trina understands her customer intimately – she’s a Modern Midlife woman who loves to shop and comes into the store frequently. With that in mind, Trina makes sure there’s always a new collection to “WOW” her when she returns. 

Given that it’s the holiday season, Jacqueline and I were immediately drawn to the most beautiful tuxedo jacket covered in dazzling metallic stripes. Jacqueline is a towering beauty with the figure of a supermodel. She also has a unique way of bringing fashion to life – or bigger than life! She slipped into the colorful Dignitary Jacket while I grabbed the matching Rico skirt. Zoe, the Trina Turk in store stylist has an eye for the extraordinary. She encouraged Jacqueline to create an unusual combination by pairing the blazer with a simple Tuxedo blouse and fabulous pair of wide leg denim trousers. Rolling up the cuffs transformed the look into the ultimate fashion statement.

All she needed was the matching clutch and the perfect pair of black suede heels and she was ready to roll. I kept things simple and tossed on the Water Lily top in black with the loveliest wrist ties and keyhole collar. Zoe handed me a fabulous pair of earrings, a matching bracelet, and a ring from Trina’s jewelry collection and it was time to hit the streets of MB.

It didn’t take long before Jacqueline and I were surrounded by people stopping, staring and asking where the looks were from! The combination of Golden Hour and Trina’s dazzling metallic’s were enough to attract a mini paparazzi moment! You can’t help but draw attention in these show stopping looks. It was time for a quick change. Jacqueline and I had already picked out our next look. What girl can resist a bit of opulence? Certainly not us! The Alinda top with the perfect amount of glittery rhinestone fringe quickly caught my eye. I paired it with the Heff scarf worn as a belt along with a simple pair of black leggings. Jacqueline selected the Larkin pant with a simple black ribbed top and a chunky necklace from Trina’s collection. We brought along our own sparkly pumps to finish off the looks. The Larkin pants fit like a dream.

Although Jacqueline and I have different heights and body shapes, we found that we could wear most of the looks in the store. Trina has an uncanny ability to design looks that fit a multitude of body shapes and sizes. If you want to take a walk on the wilder side, you can toss on the tiger striped faux fur Roma jacket. You can see it at the very bottom. I couldn’t get over the clever versatility of the design as you could wear it multiple ways. The ultimate in modern style is wearing this eye catching jacket while slipping your arms right through the sleeves. 

What’s a holiday without the perfect holiday sweater? Good thing we don’t have to find out as Trina has designed the ideal sweater, “The Old Fashioned Sweater,” that we like to think of as the “New Fashioned Sweater.” Whimsical and festive in the softest merino wool, this sweater will bring a smile to your face. You can choose from delightful hearts or a sassy red lip with an endless array of styling options. Jacqueline slipped on a simple black skirt with a sassy beret while I chose the absolutely anything from the plaid Koenig skirt. I’ll always be “Mad for Plaid” and thankfully, Trina, continues to design a wide range of fabulous plaid pieces including the bustier Taeko top to switch up the look in an instant. 

Jacqueline was lusting after the Alinda top and was delighted to find the matching Top Shelf Dress. Think of it as the perfect LBD for the holidays trimmed in glittering rhinestone fringe. As long as Jacqueline was changing things up, I thought I would head to the wilder side of Trina Turk. It’s clear Trina likes to have some fun and her leopard collection is absolutely to die for! The Reprise jacket is the revamped moto jacket that’s high on style and comfort. I paired it with the coordinating Mill Creek tank top. The Avion Leopard crossbody was the ideal compliment for Jacqueline to tie it all together. The Maghera sunglasses definitely added a little old world Hollywood glamour to the mix.

Want to get noticed this holiday season? That’s guaranteed in Trina’s designs as Jacqueline and I quickly found out! We were even approached by a woman who asked us to model for her fashion magazine! That’s the magic of Trina Turk Style – alluring, captivating, modern effortless style – for the woman who doesn’t believe in blending in.

To finish off the day, we decided to slip on some holiday elegance – me in classic Trina with the gorgeous Koi jumpsuit and Jacqueline in a vibrant, colorful striped Hitachi dress with the perfect amount of shimmer. Did you know that Trina also designs shoes? That was a wonderful added bonus as Jacqueline slipped on the Cosmo heel in hot pink with a glittery rhinestone buckle. Yes, Trina’s thought of absolutely everything! 

I’m pretty sure Jacqueline and I would have pulled out our sleeping bags and spent the night if we could!  I told you we were like two school girls! Hint, Hint, Trina – how about a Forever Fierce sleepover? Wouldn’t that be fun?! I have to admit this was the most fun I’ve ever had on a photo shoot.
