Chico’s has been celebrating women at midlife long before we began celebrating ourselves! With the latest Girlfriend’s Celebration Events at select locations across the country, Chico’s is partnering with the women of The Fierce 50 to show you that age is just a number! I was delighted when Chico’s asked me to spend an afternoon meeting and styling their customers.

The Santa Monica location on Montana Avenue is a beautiful, expansive, light filled boutique overflowing with delightful designs to inspire you. I arrived on Thursday with my friend, Margaret Rowe, to be warmly greeted by each team member with a smile and hug. We were off to a fabulous start with some of the store’s “regulars” coming in for a look at the latest spring collections. With vibrant colors, gorgeous textures and patterns, incorporating the latest trends, yet staying true to it’s nature, Chico’s is knocking it out of the park, bringing a brand new vibe into its designs.

It brought back memories of my many years on the floor at Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, or styling customers in home at the Carlisle Collection. I’ll admit, I was absolutely blown away by the personal attention I observed each customer receiving. You could see that customers felt at ease and at home in the store, and quickly started sharing stories like old friends. I learned that Chico’s is all about the personalized customer experience with a focus on their relationship with their customer. They are interested in making their customers look and feel beautiful in their unique way. It’s about building a solid relationship based on trust and truly caring about the well-being of their customer. Their intention is to create an unforgettable experience so they choose to return time and again. It’s a powerful strategy of putting the customer first.

I have to admit, it gave me a warm feeling to know that each team member put their heart and soul into each client. One darling woman shared with us that she has a Chico’s wardrobe in each of her homes. She doesn’t like to pack, so she buys the same outfits for each of her homes! Now, that says everything about the Chico’s experience and personnel!

Margaret and I couldn’t wait to get our hands on the latest spring styles. I arrived in the most gorgeous Chico’s navy lace coat from their Black Label. Throwing it over their white jeggings, I grabbed a black camisole and added a thick navy choker that was to die for. The jacket is so easy to style for day or evening. I could see it over dressy slim black slacks and fabulous pumps to give it a dressier look. Now, it was time to try on some of the latest collections.

I had my eyes on a blue cut out shoulder dress that I had spied in the latest Chico’s ad. It showed a beautiful blonde in gladiator sandals and it really caught my eye. The fabric had an ethereal feel as it was so soft and silky. Blue is my favorite color and I couldn’t help but notice the theme of the day was shades of blue. Paired with the most fabulous denim and leather bag and a choker that’s to die for, Margaret and I couldn’t resist dancing around. Margaret chose a gorgeous pinstriped blouse in a chiffon fabric, with the most beautiful detailing on the back. That’s one thing that I’ve noticed about the latest designs is the attention to detail. There’s a lot to surprise and delight you in the spring collection. I loved the faded denim jeans Margaret chose and I couldn’t resist choosing the same hat to take home.

The team members were busy bringing changes of clothes and what fashion blogger doesn’t like trying on the latest fashion? Next up, it was time for some distressed denim with a pale blue blazer and a silky tank. I have to admit, I was over the moon to see such an array of choices in the prettiest shades of blue. The mirror was calling our name and we put on our best blogger poses and had a blast. Next up, the customers wanted in on the fun. Margaret and I combed the store, after inquiring as to what was needed to freshen up their wardrobes. The women were so refreshing and willing to play along. There’s something so delightful about women getting together and celebrating one another. Margaret and I made some new friends and can’t wait to go back!

Chico’s is really changing the face of retail by bringing it back to the heart of the woman. They have been celebrating women at midlife since the brand opened its doors. The women of The Fierce 50 are so grateful to join the party! Isn’t it time for all women of midlife to celebrate themselves? Thank you, Chico’s, for helping us to look beautiful on the outside while helping us to feel beautiful on the inside.
