Santa Barbara, California

''I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women more beautiful, but also to reassure them, give them confidence.'' - Yves Saint Laurent

Santa Barbara is a dream destination for just about anyone. When I was asked to guest host and curate The Bloglovin Shop, it felt like a dream.  As the Bloglovin celebration continues with the theme of “Bold Patterns and Colors to Elevate Your Luxe Look,” I’m taking you on a tour of some of my favorite stops along the way and going into more detail about these fabulous outfits!

A short drive from Los Angeles, Santa Barbara feels like it’s a world away. Often referred to as “The American Riviera,” it has it’s own laid back vibe with a bit of a Mediterranean feel. With the influence of Spanish architecture, the vistas offer one more breathtaking view after another. We began the day at The Santa Barbara Courthouse. You can’t help but be drawn to the gorgeous architectural arches and the magnificent stone construction. Built in 1929, after the original building caught fire, it’s a popular stop among visitors to the area. With it’s sunken gardens and clock tower, there’s a photo opportunity everywhere you turn. I selected a Self Portrait lace dress from Asos and paired it with classic pumps from Stuart Weitzman. The purse is from Stella McCartney and Bloomingdales. The accessories are by Samantha Wills, a unique designer from Australia, and I’ve been lusting after her rose gold collection for quite some time. Check my CGO Instagram Shop for her pieces. The hat was one of those clearance table finds at Bloomingdales that’s now sold out. The Courthouse is truly a can’t miss on a visit to Santa Barbara. Take a picnic and make it at afternoon, relaxing on the gorgeous grounds, and taking in the scenery.

From there, we headed over to the downtown area as I heard there was an awesome Farmer’s Market. This girl can’t resist healthy, fresh food, and the selection was incredible at the local market. Held in the heart of downtown, the Farmer’s Market encompasses fresh produce and flowers, homemade pastries and goodies, rocking music and is surrounded by fabulous boutiques and outdoor cafes. With street performers and live music, it’s a lively venue and an absolute must stop on a tour of Santa Barbara. A woman carrying a very large snake couldn’t help but get my attention. Ok, not just a snake, but what looked like a Boa Constrictor. Could this be real? I had to take a closer look. Before I knew it, I had the “little fella” happily perched around my neck. It was so nice of him to match my outfit. I had to have my “Brittany” moment.  The snake was from “Snakes on the Coast,” a nonprofit on a mission to educate people about these beautiful creatures and can be found on Instagram @snakesonthecoast. Wearing a pair of striking leather pants by Paige, and a top that quickly sold out by Madewell, it was a look made that much better by my new snakeskin accessory! I threw on some sandals from last year by Rebecca Minkhoff along with my Stella McCartney bag. The sunglasses are by LeSpecs, one of my favorites for affordable eyewear that looks like the higher end designers.

Our next stop, The Santa Barbara Mission, attracts visitors year round. It’s full of rich history and the architecture is out of this world. Surrounded by rose gardens, it’s an ideal location for an afternoon of history and culture. The colorful gardens inspired the look in classic Ted Baker shorts with a simple BCBG top. I threw on a pair of Tabitha Simmons heels from last season and brought along a colorful tote from Target. You can purchase a guided tour to learn more about the history of the Mission or just roam the breathtaking grounds and call it a day.

If you’re in the LA area and looking for the perfect getaway, Santa Barbara is calling your name. There’s something for everyone. And make sure to bring a wide range of fashion options. It tends to warm up during the day while the evenings can be quite cool. My Bloglovin Shop has everything to have you traveling in style. And, if you’re looking for your favorite blogs to follow, head over to Bloglovin. Cheers beauties. Make it a Bloglovin day!
