Santa Barbara, California

''You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.'' - Edith Head

There’s something about getting away, even if it’s only a hop, skip and a jump away. Santa Barbara is it’s own little slice of heaven and was the perfect backdrop for my latest collaboration with Bloglovin and Witlee. When Bloglovin contacted me to see if I was interested in guest hosting and curating their shop this month, I jumped at the chance! It’s my favorite site to find my top blogs and bloggers to follow. If you’re looking for fashion inspiration, there’s no better place than Bloglovin. You can find just about everything your heart desires at The Bloglovin Shop.

The Santa Barbara Courthouse is quite the allure with its breathtaking  architecture and rich history. It made the ideal backdrop for my next look by Self Portrait and Asos, a gorgeous lace dress that made me feel stylish and elegant. I selected an elegant bag to match by Stella McCartney from Bloomingdales and threw on my classic pumps from Stuart Weitzman. Self Portrait is my go to designer when I’m looking for something extra special to wear. Known for designs with the most intricate details, his dresses are truly a dream to wear, instantly transforming the way a woman feels.

From there, we moved on to the local Farmer’s Market. Like many of you, I use freshly grown organic food as often as possible and I can’t resist a farmer’s market! This one is located right in the heart of downtown and bustling with all kinds of people. With street performers, live music, fresh food, produce and flowers, it’s an absolute must. I did a double take as I spotted a woman carrying a very large snake out the corner of my eye. Initially intimidated, I went in for a closer look. Given that it matched my outfit perfectly, how could I resist? Well, clearly I couldn’t and before I knew it the Boa was wrapped around my neck. Once I caught my breath, I actually started to relax and enjoy the moment. It’s not every day you walk down the street and someone hands you a boa constrictor! I felt pretty fierce in these fabulous leather pants from Paige and Shopbop. The lace tie up blouse is a classic from Madewell and the strappy sandals from Rebecca Minkoff are from last season. We strolled around and enjoyed the scenery before heading onto our next stop.

A trip to Santa Barbara isn’t complete without a visit to the local Santa Barbara Mission. With it’s brilliant rose garden, interesting architecture and vibrant history, it was one of my favorite stops of the weekend. I chose a pair of floral shorts with a bit of a dressy feel from Ted Baker at Bloomingdales and topped it off with a simple tank from BCBG. I pulled out a pair of fuschia Tabitha Simmons pumps from my own collection.

This week and next, I’ll be sharing my adventures in Santa Barbara in an ongoing Bloglovin Celebration. I’ll take you through what is now called “The Funk Zone,” the ideal location for my more bohemian side. It’s a vibrant eclectic area filled with outdoor restaurants, paint splattered walls and wine tastings on every corner. It was easy to bring out my more playful side with it’s lively vibe. I found this sweater dress by Dolce Vita at Revolve Clothing and paired it with these patterned boots from Asos that definitely had the funky vibe going. Tossing on a studded side body by Coach found at Bloomingdales, I was good to go.

My next look took was a perfect compliment to the colorful vicinity of Santa Barbara’s “Funk Zone.” A fun Boho mini dress by Free People is topped off by a hat from Michael Stars from their fall collection. The tote bag has the look of a designer yet was found at the local Target. I love mixing high end with more affordable styles. I’ve come to love the gladiator trend and this pair of sandals is one of my favorites from Joie and Shopbop. I can’t wait to share more about the lively “Funk Zone.” Stay tuned for my next blog post in this series bringing you with me to enjoy the ride. I’ll let you in on the best places to visit if you’re in the Santa Barbara vicinity.

I can’t wait to share more with you throughout the next two weeks as I celebrate Witlee, Bloglovin and the Bloglovin Shop with all of you! Come join me as I take you along on a tour of Santa Barbara and share all the inside scoops in high style. Cheers beauties. Make sure to check out the Bloglovin Shop and make it a Bloglovin day!
